International Beer DayBack to blog
Are You Celebrating Today?
Beer is one of the oldest and most widely consumed alcoholic drinks in the world, and the third most popular drink overall after water and tea.
It has a loooong history, previously reported as dating back to the Babylonians 4300BC where recipes were chipped on to clay tablets. In 2018 however, archaeology professor Li Liu from Stanford University found evidence in Israel of brewing going back as far as 13,000 years. Not surprising to beer lovers, she noted …
“This discovery indicates that making alcohol was not necessarily a result of agricultural surplus production, but (it) was developed for ritual purposes and spiritual needs”.
